I’m writing a short story featuring a haunted house worker, drawing on some previous experience doing volunteer work at a haunted house. But I’d really like to know what it’s like to work in a big professional one, like the St. Louis Scarefest haunted houses, for example. I know basic things– don’t touch people, etc, but any details you can provide, especially first-person details, would be really great.

it can be really fun but also it can be really bad as well one time a customer got so scared that she slammed me into a wall and caused me to put a dent in the wall with my head and another time i scared someone so bad that the kid crapped himself i was really grossed out by it and another time it was a normal day as anyother of scaring the heck out of people and this one girl comes in and is just balling her eyes out and she curled up in a corner when she got to the section we were in and we had to call the cops to move her out because she was that terriffied and wet herself she had to be at least 17 in appearance it seemed to me i have been punched by patrons before cussed out because they were so scared almost got vomitted on by a really drunk guy..but all in all i have alot of fun at my job and it’s fun to scare people in my oppinion
