Before that i only saw it on tv, thus the assumption was that it is fiction. In fact i thought aliens were 3 eyed monsters and ghosts were floating bed sheets. I never really had the idea of “extraterrestrial” and “spirits posing as dead people”. It was new to me.

Failing that, the whole piece would be a comedy bit.
Now we have documentaries about the paranormal, TV dramas about mediums, movies where ghost activity is featured, and even ghost hunters on TV.
What changed in American film making to stop the standard ridicule of the unknown?
