How do you get playable ghosts on Sims 3?

I have been looking for information on how to get playable ghosts but haven’t found anything that works. I tried putting the grave stone in my pocket then taking it to the science lab but it doesn’t work. I need help!!!

    You have to wait for a phone call from the science building, it takes around five days so be ready. Then you have to put the gravestone in your inventory and go to the science lab.
