I’m just curious about this –
The Bible openly states that ghosts are nothing more than demons, right? That the dead do not live on except in Heaven/Hell, right? So why do people who hold otherwise Christian beliefs believe in ghosts?
Surely, if anything, ghosts are completely based in folklore or older belief systems.
What’s your opinion on this?

Here’s something to ponder where is your heaven or hell? Heaven isn’t necessarily up in the sky and to the left. They can exist here on earth but on a different plane of existence that we sometimes see as apparitions. Btw- to be a Christian you have to believe in ghosts and the supernatural, after all God is a supernatural being. The Bible is full of stories of extraordinary events.

Actually “Spirit” is used for it all and get this…in the Greek it literally means “Current of Air” or “Breath of Air”
Modern church people haven’t dealt with ’spirits and unclean spirits’ like Christ did and so that says something about what isn’t being taught.
Demons could be fallen angels and could also be ’spirits’ who were the mixed angel/people at the time of Noah. Read Genesis 6 and you see the ‘Sons of God’ which probably are angels having offpsring with beautiful woman…at the time of Noah. These mixed beings might be the ’spirits who have names.
Food for thought and I don’t worry about it. Good and evil do exist.

Well I do believe in ghosts and the paranormal,but I also believe that they all have to do with the devil,There are some exceptions to this,let me explain,my mother died in April of 2009 and 1 week after she died the lady that took care of her and her daughter heard my mothers voice calling her from the room that my mother died in,she kept calling her name joann,both of them heard her,they went into the room and they were talking to each other about a paul sawyer print my mother didn’t want to go to anyone but me and joann said she guessed she could let someone else have it and another picture came off the wall and went flying across the room and fell on the bed,joann new my mother heard what she said and new mama was angry about it.This happens sometimes when things in the deceased persons life have been left unfinished.There are some Bible scriptures to back this up they are:1 Samuel 28:2 thru 20
